This position serves as the lead Environmental Protection Specialist for the Office of Airports (ARP), New England Region in support of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Airports serves as the principal Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) organization responsible for all airport program matters in environmental compliance, and noise abatement.

Duties

Performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader or more experienced technical specialist. Acts as principal technical specialist or as a project manager or team leader for large work activities. Serves as a senior technical point of contact and authoritative consultant for environmental and noise compliances. Reviews projects for applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including FAA Advisory Circulars, Orders, Guidance and Grant assurances.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-0028-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is: Synthesizing the written work products across a wide variety of environmental disciplines,Editing technical documents, and write for a wide audience so that complex issues can be conveyed to the general public,Overseeing the environmental regulatory process, including scoping, public participation and public notice and the ability to communicate this process to others.Reviewing integrated noise modeling and/or establishing noise contours. Reviewing air quality assessments.Reviewing historic/architectural/archeological/cultural reviews, Endangered or Threatened species reviews, and/or wetland delineations and mitigation measures.Applicants should include examples of all specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully.
