This position is located at Shiprock Service Unit, Northern Navajo Medical Center, Division of Administrative Services, Nutrition and Dietetics Branch, Shiprock, New Mexico. The purpose of this position is to serve as working leader to provide quality food service to patients, staff and guests, and to accomplish concurrently a variety of food preparation, service and sanitation.

Duties

Distributes and balances workload among kitchen employees and prepares schedules. Instructs employees, provides training and answers regarding procedures, policies and directives. Ensures plans, materials, equipment and tools are available. Prepares and delivers work orders. Ensures services operate efficiently. Assures safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Maintains departmental procedures, standards and time schedules are met. Reports to supervisor on the status, progress, and any potential work delays. Attends to day-to-day operations. Relays information or decisions from supervisors on problems/questions that come up during the work shift.
