Duties
What will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will serve as an expert-level Environmental Protection Specialist within the Region 9 Mitigation Division on the field deployable team. You will advise regional and field leadership during disaster operations on how to avoid or minimize adverse impacts to the environment and comply with environmental planning and historic preservation responsibilities.

To qualify for this Environmental Protection Specialist position at the IC-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Reviewing projects to ensure compliance with environmental laws (i.e., the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, etc) and providing a recommendation to reduce potential adverse impacts;
Developing documents related to environmental and historic preservation such as compliance reviews or standard operating procedures; and
Participating in meetings and site visits to convey environmental policy or program concepts to stakeholders.
