This position is in the Division of Facilities Management and Engineering, Office of Environmental Health & Engineering Service. The locations of the position will be at the Billings Area Office (BAO), Billings, MT or Northern Cheyenne Service Unit (NCSU), Lame Deer, MT. The actual location will be determined during the selection process.

Duties

Develop and advise on the nature and scope of operation, modification, preventive maintenance and repair of facilities. Coordinate activities related to the design and construction of assigned projects. Projects may include new construction and site development, major and minor repairs, improvements, alterations, and equipment installation and replacement. Respond to work requests and communicate work assignments, estimate staff resources, authorize work, schedule work, maintain record keeping, cost accounting, material control and track labor. Maintain files of schematic diagrams, blue prints, working drawings, repair manuals, operation and maintenance manuals, operating instructions, pre-design reports, engineering studies, specification manuals and financial reports.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Researching and applying engineering principles and practices to solve practical engineering problems related to facility management operations; Identifying deficiencies in engineering operations to make recommendations for performance improvements; and providing technical written and oral guidance and instruction on facility management operations. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
