You will serve as a Management Assistant in the Regional Call Center (RCC), Public Works Department of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will receive and process customer service requests for maintenance and repair of physical facilities by telephone call and by e-mail. You will provide quality customer service to obtain relevant information regarding the maintenance problem and required resources to complete the repair. You will evaluate service requests to determine proper work type classification per OSD standards (Routine, Urgent, Emergency, Project, Recurring). You will exercise thorough knowledge of the use and complexities of the computerized asset management system MAXIMO to accurately induct and review work orders. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) utilized by the RCC for proper work induction. You will utilize thorough knowledge of facilities components, facilities maintenance and labor trade vernacular to accurately input and review the required information (e.g. job order number, work center, labor/craft code, work type) in the system. You will assign emailed service requests to Regional Call Center (RCC) personnel ensuring a balanced workload among the on-duty staff. You will act as the first level of assistance to RCC personnel for questions regarding SOPs, service requests, facilities systems, labor trades and work types. You will validate work request data entered in the system is in compliance with NAVFAC directives. You will retrieve applicable data from established databases and spreadsheets to conduct thorough error reviews and reports. You will ensure emergency calls have been received by the dispatch center.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • You may be required to remain on duty or be called in to duty in the event of a disaster, either manmade or natural.
  • The position is emergency essential and may be required to relocate to another location in the event of any type of disaster (natural or manmade) to another location to continue operations.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position requires the ability to do shift work on a rotating basis, including weekends, holidays and the after-hours between 1600 and 0730.
  • You will be required to work different shifts on a rotating basis, including overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • This position is part of the Regional Call Center and will be required to work different shifts on a rotating basis, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Incumbent may be designated as ALPHA personnel and required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations or periods of an increased security threat.

For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing customer service requests for maintenance and repair of physical facilities by telephone call and e-mail; 2) Providing quality customer service to obtain relevant information regarding the maintenance problem and required resources to complete the repair; 3) Evaluating service requests to determine proper work type classification per OSD standards (Routine, Urgent, Emergency, Project, Recurring); 4) Exercising thorough knowledge of the use and complexities of MAXIMO to accurately induct and review work orders; 5) Assigning emailed service requests to Regional Call Center (RCC) personnel ensuring a balanced workload among the on-duty staff. For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing customer service requests for maintenance and repair of physical facilities by telephone call and e-mail with minimal assistance; 2) Providing quality customer service to obtain relevant information regarding the maintenance problem and required resources to complete the repair; 3) Exercising thorough knowledge of the use and complexities of MAXIMO to accurately induct and review work orders; 4) With assistance, assigning emailed service requests to Regional Call Center (RCC) personnel ensuring a balanced workload among the on-duty staff.
