Duties
Plans, directs and manages all intelligence and investigative policy, training, audit guidelines, and investigative support services for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Coordinates liaison with all law Federal law enforcement agencies, as well as the intelligence community in general, on issues of mutual investigative or intelligence concern. Serves as the subject matter expert on International and Domestic Terrorism, working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Counter-Terrorism Division and National Joint Terrorism Task Force (NJTTF) representing the intelligence and security interests of the Bureau of Prisons, while at the same time directly participating in the management, planning, design, and production of general FBI intelligence products and services assigned. Directs the development of threat analysis data and formal threat assessments regarding inmates and inmate groups with a history of, or nexus to, terrorist activity or security threat profile inmates to support informed decisions and strategic planning in particular, and security planners Bureau-wide in general. Manages, designs, develops, plans, and initiates research projects and performs analytical research functions to prepare finished written and/or oral intelligence reports and studies pertaining to international and domestic terrorist activities.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is directly related experience that included substantial involvement with a correctional program and provided a thorough knowledge of correctional techniques, or experience in meeting and dealing with people that demonstrated the ability to work effectively with inmates and associates in a correctional environment. Experience must have also demonstrated the ability to perform supervisory or administrative duties successfully. This includes (1) understanding the problems of custody, treatment, training, and release of inmates of penal or correctional institutions;(2) a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of an institution's internal policies, programs, regulations, and procedures; and (3) training subordinates, coordinating and directing activities and functions, evaluating performance of operations and the effectiveness of programs, and maintaining high standards or work objectives. This experience must have been gained in an administrative position, or in other positions that included the successful direction, or assistance in the direction of, an entire correctional program or a major phase of such a program. Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience in coordinating as a liaison with all Federal law enforcement agencies, as well as the intelligence community in general, on issues of mutual investigative or intelligence concern.
Experience in serving as a subject matter expert on International and Domestic Terrorism, working with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Counter-Terrorism Division and National Joint Terrorism Task Force (NJTTF).
Experience in the development of threat analysis and formal threat assessments regarding inmates and inmate groups, and performing risks assessments of BOP policy, procedures, and physical security aspects to support and direct the development and publication of intelligence related products.
Experience in writing, modifying and updating intelligence and investigative policy, disseminating intelligence products, developing, and providing relevant counter terrorism and intelligence gathering training.
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
