You will serve as a Paralegal Specialist in the Naval Legal Services Command (NLSC) of RLSO NW BREMERTON.
Duties
You will perform various legal duties including but not limited to: the exercise of independent legal research and analysis relative to preparation of legal materials (i.e. case summaries, briefs, memoranda of law etc.).
You will interview clients/witnesses to obtain and verify information.
You will answer routine procedural questions about benefits, procedures, legal issues, and processes.
You will deliver formal or informal presentations/training regarding legal or administrative procedures to appropriate audiences.
You will coordinate handling of all cases involving adoption, name changes, and wills.
You will ensure timely, accurate preparation and submission of correspondence and reports, and proper maintenance of files.
You will prepare command brochures, handouts, Web-Page contents, news briefs, and presentation briefings for use throughout region.
You will maintain office equipment, ordering supplies for such equipment, and arranging for and coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of legal concepts, principles, and terminology. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Coordinating with the applicable court the serving or filing of documents, motion, hearing, and trial dates, arranging for continuances and adjournments; 2) Preparing client-specific correspondence, case summaries, briefs, memoranda of law, pleadings, motions or other legal materials requiring independent legal research and analysis; 3) Examining forms, correspondence, case files, pleadings or other legal documents to determine accuracy, sufficiency of materials, and identify needed actions; 4) Assisting attorney in conducting formal execution of all legal instruments, including but not limited to separation agreements, wills, affidavits, powers of attorney, sales and transfer of documents; 5) Maintaining electronic and hard copy office files and ensures appropriate retention and destruction of files.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education
or
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree
with superior academic achievement
