Duties

You will serve as the Installation Container Control Officer (ICCO) for installation pool of 20’ containers. You will review applications and other written requests related to DOD sponsored personal property shipments for completeness, accuracy, and legality. You will coordinate repair for containers damage/shortcomings identified by customer-submitted DA Form 2407. You will verify and sign a variety of transportation documents as Ordering Officer for the Transportation Officer. You will interpret policies and regulations to determine shipping entitlements, consignment instructions, routings, modes, and rates.

Qualifications

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) locating inbound or outbound personal property shipments which includes calendar/scheduling management; 2) Ensuring property shipments are properly labeled; 3) Tracking task due dates and researching regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Monitoring inbound property shipments from a variety of locations such as domestic and overseas locations; 2) Providing information to customers regarding shipping their personal property; 3) Reviewing personal property shipping documents for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) advising on personal property shipping entitlements at government expense; 2) Assisting with preforming personal property damage inspections; 3) Assisting with inspections to determine if personal property has been packaged properly. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). GS-08 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Auditing and validating all monthly and quarterly billing payments for shipment/storage of personal property/household good shipment to ensure that all transactions during the period are reflected and accurately entered; 2) Reviewing, monitoring, and reconciling any discrepancies and updating all computer-based data to ensure timely submission of invoices and control record of transaction; 3) Determining mode and method of transportation based on weight of shipment, destination, and type of shipment; 4) Planning, booking, routing personal property, estimating cost savings, time involved, time of arrival, storage and transit involved, and purposes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education
