This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is engaged primarily in the review and classification of credits and other assets with regards to an FDIC Risk Management Examination.

Duties
Applies knowledge of laws and regulations appraisals, lending limits, insiders.
Leads and supports loan review teams at large complex financial institutions through evaluating complex commercial credits and real estate credits for repayment capacity, collateral and appropriateness of internal ratings.
Perform quality control duties to ensure loan analysis, line sheets and recommendations are uniform in nature and support findings.
Assesses the reasonableness of a bank's Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL).
Assess high risk loans including leveraged loans using such tool as projected cash flow analysis.
Reviews and evaluates relatively complex other real estate files for proper documentation (e.g., title, lien position, appraisal, holding period, insurance coverage) and accounting treatment preparing Other Real Estate (ORE) line sheet based on analysis, and assigning classifications.
Interacts/meets with persons such as bank management, bank personnel, board of directors, third party vendors, and external auditors during an examination by performing such tasks as providing support for loan classifications, answering questions, conducting status meetings with bank personnel during the course of the examination.
Prepares written analysis, including recommendations for improvement on all aspects of the loan review function.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience performing financial and loan/credit analysis (i.e., assessing repayment capacity, financial strength and collateral protection); determining credit quality and recommending credit quality ratings; and advising examiners and management on regulation, policies, and best practices for loan/credit services and compliance; and evaluating commercial and high risk credits.
