You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Supervisor of Shipbuilding of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will plan, develop, and organize content for quarterly all hands, monthly all-supervisor meetings, and other internal communication forums.
You will develop and implement the Command’s internal communication strategy tied to strategic business objectives.
You will manage employee feedback/survey communication methods.
You will be responsible for developing crisis communication plan.
You will serve as command historian, compiling annual report in accordance with Navy regulations and ensuring custodial requirements of loaned Navy historical property are met.
You will establish and track metrics that help correlate internal communications programs to employee productivity and organization performance.
You will write talking points, speeches, presentations, Intranet posts, and workforce updates.
You will be responsible for the Command’s information public release process.
You will serve as a liaison with shipbuilder partners, Naval Sea Systems Command/Program Executive Office stakeholders, and pre-commissioning crew members to support the Navy’s external communication objectives.
You will respond to queries from news media, the general public, and other organizations in accordance with higher echelon guidance.
You will be responsible for updating NAVSEA website.
You will serve as the Command’s official photographer for presentations, award ceremonies, and other special events.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting public affairs functions or activities (e.g. media relations, platforms and inquiries, special events, community outreach and relations, marketing campaigns, or strategic communication planning and development) to promote awareness of an organization's mission and objectives.
