The purpose of this position is to implement policy, programs, and procedures for accurate control of installation logistics planning. Serves as
Installation Deployment Officer and Chief, Logistics Readiness Squadron Plans and Integration, responsible to develop, plan, organize, and analyze logistics plans including subordinate units and geographically separated units.
Duties
Acts for the Commander regarding actions required to deploy in support of Air & Space Expeditionary Forces (AEF), contingency operations and exercises.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Reviews Operation Plans (OPLANs), Concept Plans (CONPLANs), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and special operations, exercise, and Exercise Order plans received from and directed by higher headquarters (or locally generated) to determine overall installation taskings.
Responsible for providing training, resources, and logistics systems to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the installation deployment processes.
Represents the Air Base Group Commander at deployment planning conferences when logistics/deployment planning, agreements, or related matters are involved.

- PCS expenses if authorized will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations. This is a Centrally Managed position under the Logistics Career Field.
- Information Assurance (IA) Certification is a condition of employment. Position includes IA work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, incumbent must achieve appropriate IA certification within 6 months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this 6 month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in
removal from this position (Per MGT/SC, sgh, 5/08).
- The employee may be recalled to duty.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include experience planning, coordinating, or evaluating contingency support, logistics readiness deployment and execution, war reserve materiel management, base/expeditionary support, sustainment, redeployment, mobility bags and small arms weapons, air terminal operations, and logistics command and control. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating contingency support, logistics readiness deployment and execution, war reserve materiel management, base/expeditionary support, sustainment, redeployment, mobility bags/small arms weapons, air terminal operations (for non-AMC bases), and logistics command and control.
2. Knowledge of logistics management information systems necessary for planning and executing deployment operations (e.g., Logistics Module (LOGMOD), Deliberate Crisis Action Planning and Execution Systems (DCAPES), AEF UTC Reporting Tool.)
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Skill in analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting logistics readiness factors, and formulating procedural solutions to problems.
5. Ability to integrate the separate functions in planning or implementing a logistics management program.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and directs the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
7. Skill to integrate an interdisciplinary team of professionals to include attorneys, public health specialists, public affairs specialists, environmental physical scientists, biological scientists, regulators, and other governmental officials, and community groups.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
