This position is located in the Office of the Chief Operations Officer (OCOO), Design & Communication Services Division, Executive Office of the President (EOP) with matrixed oversight also provided by the WH Director of Photography. Responsible for capturing dynamic still images for standalone, and social media usage as well as senior leadership headshots and EOP events.
Duties
As a Photographer, GS-1060-12, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Performs the full range of photographic and laboratory duties for all phases of photographic reproduction, and utilizes skills in aerial, ground, color, and black-and-white photography.
Selects the appropriate cameras, lights, film type, lenses, camera angles and views, and exposures needed to photograph under a variety of conditions. Schedules and assists with senior leadership headshots across all EOP stakeholders.
Produces photographic products and evaluates the source materials to select the appropriate films, filters, exposures, and paper based on reproductive capabilities.
Studies and applies new and current photographic methods, techniques, and products for possible application within assignments an area of responsibility.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates the following: 1) Photographing high level events 2) Executing aerial, ground, still, color, and black-and-white photography and 3) Maintaining photographic and production equipment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
