Job opening: FACILIITES SUSTAINMENT (FS) BRANCH MANAGER

Salary: $115 439 - 150 075 per year

You will serve as a Facilities Sustainment Branch Manger in the Production Division, Public Works Department of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory personnel. You will assign work to subordinates Supervisors, team leader(s) and subordinates based on priorities, considering the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, the type of work, existing workload, and the capabilities of the employees. You will make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, team leaders, or similar personnel, or by contractors. You will find and implement ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building and seek improvements to business practices. You will evaluate subordinate supervisors and serves as the reviewing official for evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Incumbent recommends on the spot awards and bonuses for employees.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing all aspects and issues associated with proper management and execution of FS Branch services, including knowledge of the safety, technical, business, and financial aspects and issues, budget systems, and modern management techniques; 2) Utilizing concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and/or financing sufficient to manage production resources, including a working knowledge of annual budget preparation, job order accounting and commodity rate development; 3) Applying leadership experience in preparing and giving oral and written presentations in order to produce completed staff work; 4) Utilizing functions and services provided by a large public works organization to include planning, budgeting and cost management, operations and maintenance, and personnel and material management; 5) Utilizing automated systems to facilitate data processing and metrics plus computer application programs to include statistical, spreadsheet, charts, and word processing programs.
