You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.

Duties

You will plan, design, and execute internal and external communications. You will provide guidance on all command publications. You will advise the command on the use of Internet/Extranet technologies. You will demonstrate skills in making oral presentations to various internal and external audiences. You will apply a variety of analytical techniques in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating complex data, and developing appropriate recommendations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of Public Affairs Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying Communication principles and methods of written, electronic, and oral communication to assist in the development, analysis, and evaluation of a public affairs Campaign. I have experience assisting in the planning, designing, and executing internal and external communications and community relations programs to inform and educate stakeholders, employees, customers, public officials, community business leaders and the general public about Command programs and activities. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Develop recommendations for senior public affairs specialist and assist with public affairs matters that may adversely affect the Command; 2) Participate in reviewing command strategic plans and pending functional/organizational changes in order to adapt public affairs initiatives to meet changing needs; 3) Use a variety of methods and techniques to achieve communication goals, such as news releases, feature articles, exhibits, brochures, pamphlets, publications, etc.; 4) Advise the command on the use of Internet/Extranet technologies as a communication medium with customers, employees, vendors, other supply chain stakeholders, and the public; 5) Establish and maintain effective working relationships in order to make oral presentations to various internal and external groups informing them of programs, objectives and activities; and 6) Apply a variety of analytical techniques in gathering, analyzing and evaluating complex data and developing appropriate communications recommendations.
