The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior logistics management specialist in support of acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment. Serve as senior logistics manager for nuclear activities in support of major nuclear weapons programs
Duties
Serves as the focal point for planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support for a major weapon system or subsystem.
Manages, monitors, evaluates, and coordinates ILS plan implementation.
Serves as the senior technical advisor on contracts.
Serves as the senior representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance as the position requires access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft to both CONUS and OCONUS locations
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development (APDP).

- the position description within 24 months of assignment or secure an approved waiver. The employee must meet 80 hours of continuous learning requirements within the designated timeframe
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions as Administrative and Management Positions, for GS 346 Logistics Management Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of theories and principles of logistics management and ILS planning and execution; knowledge of systems design along with familiarity of specifications and understanding of maintenance requirements during acquisition and other stages of a system project; Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, acquisition, and production; Knowledge of major issues, program goals, work operations, and managerial channels of organizations involved in ILS plans; Knowledge of analytical techniques and evaluation criteria used in measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of programs to improve ILS plans, and in developing and modifying work methods.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of basic theories and principles of systems design, specifications development techniques; and an
understanding of acquisition and maintenance requirements as well as organizational functions involved in logistical
support.
2. Knowledge of theories and principles of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning, development, and
execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program.
3. Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, and
acquisition.
4. Knowledge of contractual processes, procedures, and technical requirements.
5. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into
operational use; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower,
materiel, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine
logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other
technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
