This position is located in the Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base Fitness Center. The incumbent will service as the Fitness Specialist and will manage the fitness Wellness programs for the Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base and all tenant commands. Incumbent provides guidance in the area of physical fitness and training and provides various wellness programs to all authorized patrons.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and conducts a physical fitness program that provides conditioning programs for authorized patrons. Instructs individuals and groups in the proper implementation and maintenance of conditioning and training programs for aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, and flexibility training. Conducts micro-fit testing, which includes measuring individuals aerobics capacities, their body fat percentage, recommended height/weight ratios, strength, flexibility, muscular endurance and blood pressure. Works with various command representatives in developing and implementing physical fitness programs for military personnel.
Instructs patrons in the proper use of all equipment for training and self-monitored progress by preparing written instruction and procedures for the performance of work, use of equipment, safety and well-being of all involved. May train/lead other employees in various recreation/physical fitness-related positions. Registers students, collects fees, maintains attendance and appropriate accounting records. Endure all safety measures are observed. Responsible for care of equipment and security of facilities.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid must be Uploaded.
- Personal Trainor Certification must be Uploaded.
Qualifications

One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
A degree from an accredited college/university in a related field may be substituted for two years of experience.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
Personal Trainor Certification is required.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Education
