Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Shares in planning, development, monitoring, conduct, and evaluation of critical infrastructure security and resilience related Exercises.
Facilitates Exercise planning meetings and communicates with other key personnel to develop Exercise design elements, recommend courses of action based on previous exercises, and potential recognizable shortfalls as they relate to the Exercise, in compliance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
Conducts detailed analysis of stakeholder objectives, capabilities and capability gaps, and concerns to develop actionable scenarios create documentation, coordinate logistics, plan Exercise conduct, and after-action recommendations.
Generates Exercise related presentations, such as the Exercise Brief Slide Deck, to facilitate a guided discussion, walking players through the scenario, modules, and discussion question.
Creates briefings to capture exercise related information, providing awareness to Regional leadership, making them aware of key exercise elements and any potential necessary actions within the regional area of responsibility.
Represents CISA by speaking on regional Training and Exercise initiatives, opportunities, and events at working groups, conferences, interagency meetings, and other forums.
Directs Exercise operations and facilitates successful Exercise conduct.
Coordinates regional training deliveries.
Disseminates training resource information to partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Planning, coordination and executing training, exercises, meetings, or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences;
Assists in the development of Exercise materials, logistics, and facilitation; and
Supports data analysis, research, and other fact-finding techniques and able to communicate findings both written and verbally.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Planning, coordination and executing training, exercises, meetings, or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences;
Develop Exercise materials, coordination of logistics, and independently facilitate events; and
Conducts data analysis, research, and other fact-finding techniques and able to communicate findings both written and verbally.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).
