Duties
Serves as Administrative Specialist for the NIST Chief of Staff (COS). Develops, implements, and coordinates the internal business processes for requests requiring COS approval. Evaluates requests requiring COS approval to ensure completeness and compliance with business requirements. Reviews and analyzes administrative policies and procedures and recommends changes to improve and streamline operational activities within the COS office. Keeps abreast of administrative changes to determine potential impact on COS operations, and the need for new or modified business processes. Develops presentations, briefings, and memorandum on a variety of administrative and programmatic matters for the COS. Plans, coordinates, and leads offsite conferences for COS to include logistics, budget, contracts, and scheduling. Serves as liaison between the COS and NIST senior leadership, other agencies, and representatives outside of NIST. Plans, coordinates, and performs a variety of administrative functions in support of the COS, in areas such as human resources, procurement, and finance. Carries out a variety of special projects and assignments.

Qualifications
All applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of the specialized experience at the GS-7 level (ZA-I at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience ensuring administrative programs are in compliance with established policies and procedures, communicating assignments to a team to ensure workload is in accordance with program priorities, preparing reports on completed projects to present to management; and maintaining program reference materials, project files and or relevant documents to ensure documents are up to date.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Combination of education and experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
