Job opening: ELECTRICIAN

Salary: $32 - 38 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time
You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, FS BRANCH of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems and fixtures, controls, and equipment supporting industrial operationsm cinputer complexes or similiar complex electrical loads. You will plan and lay out the work, tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems and completes repairs and installations with little or no advice. You will determine and place distribution panels, boxes, fittings and connections and installs wiring, couplings, conduit relays, fixtures, transformers and other electrical devices including electrical service entrances. You will perform installation and repair of electrical systems such as primary and secondary utility services supplying electricity to specialized equipment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a current Fork Lift, Hig Lift (JLG), Bucket Truck and/or construction equipment license.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a current special certification/license for specialized tools or equipment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) installing of a variety of electrical systems; 2) Working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and/or engineering drawing to lay out the placement of electrical lines, circuits, and controls 3) Using a variety of test equipment, e.g., meggers, multimeters, frequency meters, watt meters, power factor meters, vibro-grounds, phase rotation meters, to perform the job; 4) Conduct test on electrical systems to determine repairs needed.
