You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the ORNANCE SUPPORT DIVISION of NMC DET PATUXENT RIVER MD.

Duties

You will process all transactions using the Ordnance Information System-Retail (OIS-R). You will receive, review and monitor requisitions/referrals. You will release the appropriate documentation to the proper ACT in a timely manner, and in accordance with assigned priority and required delivery dates. You will provide detailed technical advice and assistance in ordnance inventory management to support internal and external customers. You will perform analytical research for specials projects and reports, such as, resolving reporting concerns, and in transit discrepancies. You will receive and process all Naval Ammunition Reclassification (NAR), Ammunition Information Notices (AIN), and Overhead Fire (OHR) messages in accordance with established guidelines. You will process all ordnance, ordnance details and associate components and hardware milstrip requisitions, referrals, receipts, issues expenditures and restows; to include associated follow-ups and statuses. You will review assets of age sensitive material.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Quality Inspection Certification.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS - 05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive research for required information and reconstructing records of complex ordnance transactions. Experience conducting reconciliation of ordnance transaction, inventory, inspection/audit, and scanner discrepancies. Experience with ammunition directives, manuals and regulations. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive research; to include reconstructing records of complex ordnance transactions. Experience with security and safety regulations governing the movement, storage and documentation of sensitive ordnance and components. Experience with automate computer supply systems and ordnance databases such as Ordnance Information System-Retail (OIS-R). Experience compiling reports and charts to document methods, premises and conclusions. Experience with the Detachment ordnance load plan, and the capability to analyze stock levels to determine overages or shortages. Experience identifying, verifying and correcting discrepancies on the Detachment load plan.
