This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Programs and Project Management Division, Project Management Branch in Galveston, TX.
Duties
Review and approve funding and manpower estimates to assure there are sufficient resources to support project objectives.
Review and evaluate the status of projects for attainment of objectives.
Administer and approve plans that translate project objectives into completed functional phases.
Evaluate the status of projects against established milestones.
Resolve highly difficult technical and administrative project problems.
Serve as a primary point of contact for projects assigned with sponsor/customer, Federal, state, and local government, agencies, Congressional interests, other external organizations, and higher authorities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialize experience in the Federal service which includes:1)Managing Civil Works projects of high dollar value assuring timely accomplishment and coordination of the planning, design, and construction phases; AND 2)Overseeing Civil Works program costs and schedule execution during functional phases; AND 3)Coordinating the preparation of a project budget while maintaining established polices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
