You will serve as a ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will operate gasoline, multi-fuel, or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type traction. You will move earth on steep slopes, graded curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, and other surfaces with similar rough features. You will perform minor maintenance on equipment such as checking/refilling fluids, changing filters, lubricates fitting, and makes minor adjustments. You will operate other vehicles as workload requires, such as, tractors, wreckers, fuel trucks, large buses, and similar equipment.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States Class A Commercial Drivers' License and the ability to obtain N (Tank), P (Passenger), and T (Trailer) endorsements.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Construction and Weight Handling Equipment Operator certification.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You may be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States Class B and Class C License.

Qualifications
