This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Oversees a preventive maintenance control program and related automated data system for Howard A. Hanson/Mud Mountain Dams. Serves as Facilities Equipment Maintenance (FEM) automation expert and FEM system software administrator. Performs supply and purchasing duties as needed.
Duties
Utilizes an automated maintenance control data system to provide system control, oversight, repair history, analysis, data entry, and documentation of current and future maintenance operations.
Develops or updates equipment profiles, history, maintenance schedule, and related maintenance procedures and requirements for separate pieces of equipment.
Responsible for accounting data and status changes on all Work Orders for work to be performed anywhere on the project.
Serves as technical advisor on functions and data contained in the automated maintenance system and administering the work order system that schedules and controls the activities of maintenance crews.
Serves as primary VISA/GPC/IMPAC credit card purchaser.
Research sources, obtains pertinent information, resolves problems, reviews requisitions, checks status, and reconciles discrepancies.
Serves as backup to the Project Receiver, responsible for a variety of duties involving property accountability.
Serves as backup timekeeper.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
- A pre-employment physical is required due to the need to lift object weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Medical Surveillance participation may be required.
- Must obtain DoD government purchase card (GPC) within 2 months of appointment.

For the GS-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that provided a knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery, manuals, drawings, and related technical terms such as parts, equipment, tools etc. (supply and/or purchasing); and experience using a computer maintenance management system (CMMS) or an automated financial management system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Maintenance Management, Maintenance Engineering, or Facilities Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
For the GS-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating a full range of maintenance and repair work for industrial equipment/machinery using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); and utilizing an automated financial management system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Maintenance Management, Maintenance Engineering, or Facilities Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
For the GS-09:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating a full range of maintenance and repair work for industrial equipment/machinery using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); utilizing an automated financial management system to process credit card purchases; and provide guidance in areas related to purchasing, supply management, or maintenance and repair. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
OR
Education: A Master's degree or two years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Maintenance Management, Maintenance Engineering, or Facilities Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
