This position is located in Refugee, Asylum & International Operations Directorate (RAIO), Statelessness, TRIG, and Research Division (STAR), Statelessness Branch. As a Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Statelessness Branch Chief), you will be responsible for providing extensive knowledge on statelessness. As well as being responsible for managing the production of advisory reports for various cases, creating and executing office method systems, and trainings.

Duties

Manage the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of research and analysis for advisory reports administered by the branch. Function as a subject matter expert for the executive management of USCIS, interpreting legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that may have an influence on the relationship between immigration decisions and statelessness. Collaborates with external stakeholders on international issues, programmatic activities, U.S immigration policy, and statelessness. Oversees statelessness-related research, analysis, training, and knowledge management functions for USCIS, which may have an impact on 88 different types of immigration forms. Defines, monitors, and evaluates the productivity, effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of statelessness advisory reports in conjunction with the development of organizational goals for RAIO-based statelessness functions.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/05/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/05/2024. This position requires a TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance that must be completed prior to appointment. You will be subject to a 5-year periodic investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. If you fail to meet the conditions of employment or any other pre-employment requirements, such as missing any of the scheduled appointments, the hiring agency may rescind their tentative offer of employment. GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Overseeing the creation of advisory reports for individual cases, as well as developing and implementing policies, trainings, and procedures. Maintaining relationships with internal and external partners across the federal government to plan policies and procedures on behalf of the agency. Assembling statistics from USCIS directorates for regular reports for USCIS, ensures accurate knowledge management for USCIS on statelessness issues, as well as develops and conducts branch specific training across USCIS directorates. Developing new work procedures and methods to address efficacy issues and program needs.
