You will serve as a CARPENTER TRAINING LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will interpret drawings, blueprints, or specifications to determine the layout, work sequence, and type of lumber or special related material required for a project.
You will operate portable power tools associated with woodworking and carpentry (e.g., drills, routers, pneumatic nail guns, electric hammers, skill saws, portable table saws, circular saws, sanders, joiners) to perform work.
You will train or provide instruction to junior carpentry workers.
You will use shop mathematics for the construction, installation, repair, or modification of structures.
You will advise other carpentry workers on the best methods to use in meeting deadlines.
You will determine the grade, size, and type of lumber or wood substitute material required to maintain close tolerance fits and structural soundness.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current National Center for Construction Education and Reasearch (NCCER) craft instructor certification within six months of entering the position and renew every three years.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
