Duties
Serves as Regional Audit Manager responsible for managing accomplishment of Department of Defense contract audit work for an assigned group of Field Audit Offices (FAOs). Provides accounting and financial advisory services regarding contracts.
Supports accomplishment of the agency strategic plan. Emphasizes DCAA's vision and goals to employees.
Formulates long range strategies and coordinates preparation of annual audit requirements plan for assigned FAOs.
Leads, directs and provides resources to FAO Managers ensuring effective accomplishment of audit program plan and adherence to policy and objectives.
Promotes teamwork, innovation and quality management. Creates an atmosphere conducive to sharing information, ideas and best practices. Fosters effective relationships with contractor representatives and government officials.
Implements career development and human resources programs.
Evaluates performance, recommends or approves employee development and recognition, initiates or decides appropriate remedial action for performance or conduct deficiencies, addresses grievances or complaints.

Qualifications
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Basic Requirements:
Degree: accounting or a related field (such as business administration, finance, or public administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law).
OR
Combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting experience or a combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor.
Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes: managing teams of auditors in the performance of comprehensive financial or performance audits, reviewing and approving audit reports for technical competency and compliance with audit standards, providing expert leadership on audit policy development and interpretation, providing expert technical guidance on planning and performing financial and performance audits, performing quality assurance reviews to ensure audit staff compliance with audit policy and procedures.
