About the Position: The Directorate of Public Works at Fort Detrick provides exceptional infrastructure, engineering resources, housing and facility management support and services incorporating sustainable development.

Duties

Supervisory duties include assigning work, developing performance plans, and identifying developmental and training needs for subordinates, as well as interviewing candidates. Assuring project execution and providing program oversight for the disposal, transfer, exchange, or sale of real property for both civil works and military projects. Provides oversight for the planning, management, and execution of recruiting military leasing and civil leasing programs. Assuring project execution and providing program oversight for the management, accountability, and utilization of real property interests.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
