Job opening: INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST

Salary: $107 809 - 140 155 per year

You will serve as an all-source maritime intelligence analyst in the Illicit Tracking Cell (ITC) with a primary responsibility to support Title 10 U.S.C. to detect and monitor aerial and maritime transit of illegal drugs. You will conduct analytic coordination with other intelligence analysts both within Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF)-West, JIATF-South, and the Intelligence Community. This position is located at JIATF WEST in Hawaii.

Duties

You will be responsible for highly complex, all-source, predictive analysis, and actionable tipping and cueing support to law enforcement partners and partner nations. You will utilize resources, databases, and analytical methodologies to derive suspect indicators of illicit movements. You will provide tipping and cueing support to the Counterdrug (CD) Detection and Monitoring (DM) operational air, surface, sub-surface, and other end-game tactical assets. You will identify and support the development of collection strategies to fill law enforcement critical agency gaps.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • CONUS and foreign travel assignments required, with possibility of up to 179 days of annual travel TDY travel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Perform Operational Electronic Intelligence (OPELINT) maritime intelligence analysis utilizing specialized maritime tracking systems and database tools, with a primary responsibility to detect and monitor targets of interest suspected of aerial and maritime transit of illegal drugs; Perform data exploitation to improve understanding of adversary capabilities and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and assisting in the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), guides, checklists, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and best practices to provide greater maritime domain awareness; Formulate and maintain multiple intelligence databases and files for highly complex, all-source, predictive analysis, and actionable tipping and cueing support to law enforcement partners and partner nations.
