This position is located in the Design and Construction Branch, Engineering Services Division, Engineering Department, Training Center (TRACEN) Petaluma, CA.

Duties

The Engineering Technician performs the duties of a Contracting Officers Representative (COR), monitoring, inspecting and accepting contract deliverables for several construction contracts simultaneously on the TRACEN property.

• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This position requires a pre-appointment physical.
• The position requires a valid state driver's license.

Qualifications

GS-9 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 level.  Specialized experience is: Determining the constructability and ensuring compliance with the design engineer's requirements; Reviewing contracts to determine constructability, scheduling and compatibility between a wide variety of trades; Managing and maintaining the contractor's quality of control program, work schedules, inspections, etc.; Collecting field data for projects, investigations and surveys, preparing cost estimates, determining local methods and materials needed for cost effective designs, and Drafting a statement of work for new projects. OR Two full years of graduate education OR a Master's Degree meets the requirements for GS-9.
