This NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER & INSPECTOR position, is located at the AVCRAD and is part of the CA 1106 TASMG.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER & INSPECTOR, WG-3705-12, is to perform the full range of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspection testing on aircraft, aircraft components, production items such as castings, forgings, weldments, machined parts, and any other assembly or raw material as required. Performs inspections through the application of a wide variety of nondestructive testing methods, such as: magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, and liquid penetrant.

Qualifications

General Experience: Possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories. NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER & INSPECTOR, WG-3705-12: Must have at least 18 months experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.
