This position is an Open Title 5 Excepted Service Non-Uniformed Personnel position, open to the Public and to Veterans following the Minnesota National Guard Merit Placement plan. Duties

Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list A PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (PRECISION INSTRUMENTS), GS-1152-9, 1. Plans and schedules a wide variety of complex TMDE into and out of PMEL for calibration and/or repair. Process all data related to calibration and/or repair of items into PMEL Automated Maintenance System (PAMS). Analyze available facilities, standards and manpower to determine if work requested can be accomplished. Coordinate with other PMELs or Depots if work cannot be accomplished. Assigns priorities and coordinates with supervisors to expedite items as needed. Performs visual inspection on TMDE for proper transportation, handling, care cleanliness and completeness. Issues hand receipts, prepares tags, prepares and places incoming/outgoing items appropriate areas.(50%) 2. Serves as primary customer service/liaison between PMEL and customers. Coordinates all followup action with serviced organizations, keeps customers informed of job status, delays due to equipment awaiting parts, or due to work backlog. Notifies customers of equipment due/overdue for calibration. Assists units in locating like items of equipment for interim use during repair/calibration periods. Maintains contact with other PMELs and Depots regarding status of work, and initiates requests for calibration of new, complex test equipment beyond the capabilities of the PMEL. Conducts TMDE monitor training.(15%) 3. Prepares a variety of daily, weekly, quarterly, annual and unique reports utilizing the automated maintenance system to provide status of work in progress, productivity reports, items due in for maintenance or overdue for maintenance. Verifies schedules, corrects equipment numbers, deletes items as needed. Provides various reports to customers and management for verification and review. Provide input for semi-annual PMEL report. Maintains item history records in accordance with regulations. Advise management on status of manpower, work backlog, workload priorities or scheduling conflicts. Monitors calibration cycles and recommends modifications as needed.(15%) 4. Assists with loading/unloading, packing and unpacking of items received for calibration. Visually inspects, loads/unloads material to/from trucks, baskets, or bins. Prepares, packages and crates items for shipment to customers of depot. Physically places incoming and outgoing items in proper location. Prepares, processes and files shipping documents. Delivers items to Transportation for shipment. Tracks items delayed or lost in shipment. Coordinates movement of items between commercial carriers and off base customers.(20%) Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: GS-09 - experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility. Experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
