This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Network Administration (JNDN), Infrastructure Services (JND), Enterprise Technology Operations Services (JN), Information Technology (J). A successful candidate in the IT Specialist (Infosec) position will serve as an IT Specialist performing duties associated with one or more of the following IT specialty areas.

Qualifications

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Experience working in IT systems security principles, concepts, and methods to perform cybersecurity assessments, or serve as a technical expert providing evidence and reporting for compliance with regulatory laws, standards, and requirements applicable to the organization's business requirements; and 2) Recommending the purchase of security software, and assesses implementation according to the established security authorization process. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
