Duties
This position is located under the Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations, Security and Emergency Programs Division (SEPD), Emergency Management Branch (EMB) in District of Columbia, District of Columbia.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief, Emergency Management Branch and directs internally focused emergency planning that includes occupant emergency programs, Continuity of Operations (COOP), Continuity of Government (COG), and the command center operations.
The incumbent serves as a supervisor and technical expert, to include the development and implementation of policies and procedures affecting ATF in all Branch program areas and maintains capabilities in other Division responsibilities, such as the Security Compliance Assistant Visit program. Further, the incumbent will participate in or manage emergency responses that may be required to protect life, property or maintain essential functions of ATF.

Qualifications
To qualify for 14, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
Specialized experience includes:
Knowledge of managing components of emergency management programs; AND
Developing and implementing policies and procedures for a national emergency management program; AND
Assessing needs and directing evacuation and emergency response actions at Federal facilities.
