Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. You'll serve as a Plumber (Fire Sprinkler) in the PRODUCTION DIV, NAVFAC MIDLANT, NSA HAMPTON ROADS.

Duties

You will plan and implement impairment procedures for outages associated with testing and repairs. You will visually inspect pipe components for external damage and any operational deficiencies. You will inspect fire pumps and fire pump system components for damage and visually apparent operational deficiencies or impairments. You will perform a full flow trip test on dry pipe and pre-action systems. You will test fire pump and jockey pump start and stop pressures and timers to verify appropriate sequencing.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications; 2) Using measuring devices, such as tape measures, levels, and pressure gauges; 3) Using practical mathematics to make calculations such as, pipe size, area of coverage, flow rate, and application density; 4) Repairing, overhauling, modifying, and testing sprinkler systems and equipment including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic subassemblies, components, and related devices; and 5) Demonstrating the NFPA 25 Standard for the inspection testing and maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems and of the International Building Code, NFPA 4, NFPA 11, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 15, NFPA 16, NFPA 20, NFPA 22, NFPA 24_ NFP A 25 and NFPA 409 as thev relate to water based suppression svstems.
