About the position: This position will be assigned to the NAF Resource Management IT Office at Barksdale AFB, LA.
This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with 35 guaranteed hours per week and benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave).
Duties
Introductory Statement:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide on-site technician expertise and assistance for IT and
data system application to the FSS Squadron.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Force Support Information Technology (IT) staff and manager in all matters relating to IT, data systems, and communication hardware /software applications used within the Force Support Squadron. This includes, but not limited to; Performing Client Liaison (CL) duties, developing programs for local requirements using the current and in some cases past versions of Microsoft Office products, install software, hardware and provide user training as required, propose and advise the IT Manager on hardware and software upgrade to keep pace with the changing technology, provide technical support on Commercial Off the shelf(COTS) applications and or legacy systems POS (Point of Sale) and SETS (Services Employee Timekeeping System). Installs current versions of anti-virus software, Desktop Operating System, and Network E-mail, prepares and maintains documentation for locally developed programs, assist in the installation, implementation and maintenance of the network hardware systems such as cable, switches, and current server configurations; assist with site preparation for new system installations. Performs network support functions such as adding/deleting local and remote user accounts by creating mailboxes and calendars, data back-up recovery, etc. Performs other related duties as needed: assist with risk analyses documentation; assist in developing operating instructions and provide technical assistance to Force Support End Users. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain Security Plus Certification.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience demonstrating knowledge of computer techniques, requirements, method sources, and procedures in performing independent work involving specified segments of large projects. The applicant processes current knowledge of PC (personal computers), network interfaces, computer design, and implementation process. Experience in working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems, technical characteristics of local/wide area networks, equipment configuration and system software used for COTS (Commercial off the shelf systems) is highly desirable.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
