This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

You will provide potable water for all facilities located throughout Camp Pendleton. You will perform minor maintenance replacing small valves, renewing packing gland bolts, greasing pumps, replacing strainers and gaskets, adjusting pump control valves, altitude valves and changing out copper sense lines and fittings. You will drive a pick-up truck in order to make scheduled visits to water stations and equipment. You will immediately report all emergencies arising during the shift, stating the emergency, type and extent of repairs needed, and estimated time the water service will be interrupted.

Requirements

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• You must possess at least a Water Treatment Operator Certification Grade II from the State of California Department of Health.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• May have to lift and carry weights up to 60 lbs.
• This is a bargaining Unit Position.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• This position requires rotating shift work.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: testing and operating potable and limited capacity pumps.
