You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Fleet Ordnance and Supply Division, Ordnance Logistics Branch, Ordnance Program Section Head, Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia.

Duties

You will collaborate across warfare communities to facilitate the development of consensus on Ordnance readiness and program execution review of Fleet ordnance support and coordination of ship fill to meet Fleet response requirements. You will evaluate, monitor, and coordinate development of ordnance load plans and ship ordnance allowances. You will serve as a member of various ordnance policy development teams to formulate Navy ordnance management policy. You will conduct comprehensive and independent reviews, analysis and reporting of integrated ordnance systems, programs and initiatives. You will analyze integration processes of new weapons systems and ordnance procurement to assure new weapons/ordnance introduction is aligned with Fleet training requirements and is properly distributed. You will develop recommendations for ordnance distribution and positioning that support strategic and operational plans.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing inventory management for air launched, surface, and subsurface ordnance and related systems in accordance with management processes, directives and policies. Experience utilizing automatic data processing and information systems ( e.g. Ordnance Information System). Experience with weapon station and stock point processes and readiness, including personnel, material handling equipment, weapons maintenance, pier scheduling and ordnance load planning requirements. Experience developing and directing complex ordnance readiness assessments for ship, aircraft, and weapons capabilities, limitations, operational employment and maintenance and training requirements.
