Position is within the FAA, Air Traffic Organization, Technical Operations, which reports to the District System Support Centers. The work involves the application of the following trade practice areas: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and/or plumbing trades.
Duties
Works alone or in a group performing Mechanical, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Cable Installation/Replacement, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Painting, and concrete work.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
Qualifications
To qualify, no specific length of experience or training is required. However, you must show evidence of experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of a Maintenance Mechanic. The position requires knowledge, skill and abilities in various trades of work such as mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, welding/metal fabrication, painting and general knowledge of electronics and equipment. Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position.
