This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Base New Orleans, Comptroller and Base Operations Department, in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Duties
The selectee is responsible for assisting with budgeting and accounting within the Base's area of responsibility. Responsibilities include reconciliation, cost analysis, internal controls and compiling required reports.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Qualifications
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: performing technical work in support of accounting and financial management functions; examining and verifying cost data; and developing and maintaining financial records and databases; reviewing accounting data in financial documents for validity, completeness, and accuracy; processing reimbursable payments or accounts receivable invoicing and payments.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
