Duties
Provides leadership and promote teamwork and solve critical, unique, and complex problems.
Effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information to a variety of audiences.
Programming and budget processes, procedures and requirements to formulate, justify, and monitor the execution of the Districts Support Services budget, and advise managers on budgetary alternatives affecting project or mission accomplishments.
Knowledge in property management techniques such as accounting, control, protection, warehousing, identification and disposal.
Knowledge of land use planning and related documents, activity plans and other written guidance that schedules resource improvement projects and maintenance needs and provides the environmental constraints under which the projects are developed.
Knowledge of multiple use management concepts, principles and management applying to range and wildlife resources, recreation, archaeology, soils, water, air, timber, minerals and lands.
Understanding of professional skills and technical programs (e.g., GIS, construction and maintenance, property management, civil engineering, records management) to enable effective communication with specialists.
Knowledge of the principles, procedures and types of equipment used for all construction projects, GIS and maintenance work.

- Supervisory Probationary Period: If you are selected for this position, you will be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period if one has not previously been completed.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Leading a group of employees in a diverse multi-disciplinary organization; providing authoritative advice on a wide variety of complex support service problems; coordinating with other staff on budget formulation, support services work planning, project competition, management improvement, and inspection activities; monitoring the work of others; administrating a variety of management programs such as safety, upward mobility, cost reduction, sick leave, EEO, drug free workplace, overtime usage, suggestions, etc.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work is sedentary in nature. To some extent, work will involve physical exertion, such as walking, climbing and stooping, under field conditions. Occasional travel is required.
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Occasionally, the position requires supervision be performed outside under various field conditions, traveling inside vehicles for extended periods of time. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
