About the position: This position will be assigned to the 319 FSS Marketing office located at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota.
This position is Regular Part Time and does include benefits.
Duties
Conducts Commercial Sponsorship and Commercial Advertising. Compiles list of viable annual events and programs to seek commercial sponsorship. Develops solicitation packet and solicits sponsorship from local, regional, national and international sponsors. Negotiates mutually beneficial sponsorship terms and executes all supporting documents.
Coordinates with the installation's Staff Judge Advocate to ensure terms of each sponsorship agreement follows all procedural guidance, regulations and policies. Ensures AF and sponsor compliance with sponsorship agreement. Attends events and serves as point of contact for sponsors at event. Compiles and provides sponsor with copies of subsequent publicity and develops appropriate thank you letter and after action report.
Stays current on all aspects of administration of the Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising program. Identifies advertising vehicles to market under marketing program. Develops pricing and rate structure for paid advertising in Force Support publications, point of sale venues and collateral materials such as placemats, bowling center scoring screens and golf course tees. Negotiates terms of advertising agreement and executes all supporting documents. Tracks payment of advertising to ensure proper accountability and credit to Services Fund. Stays current on all aspects of administration of the marketing program.
Assists in developing and implementing marketing programs for the Force Support Squadron. Under the direction of the Marketing Director, assists and determines marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to Force Support activities. Assists and conducts qualitative and quantitative market research. Using standard industry practice, computer software and/or instruments specifically developed for use within Services, adapts or modifies research techniques for local purposes. Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses, and assists the Director in analyzing results.
Keeps the Director informed of consumer trends and their application to the activities. Makes recommendations to the Coordinator on program modifications and enhancements. Assists in developing training programs for Force Support employees in areas related to marketing such as the marketing process, advertising strategies, customer relations and media techniques.
Attends major Force Support Squadron events and provides constructive marketing feedback to the activity manager. Assists in conducting advertising campaigns. Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers for activity managers. Assists the Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market. Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix. Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in Services activities by considering the characteristics of the target audience and the media mix necessary to reach them.
Assists in conducting media relations with on- and off-base media in concert with the Public Affairs Office. Provides or arranges for photographic support for Services functions.
Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as newcomer's orientation and Commander's call. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have two years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of marketing/commercial sponsorship principles and practices.
Must have one and one half years specialized experience. This experience may have been gained in a commercial marketing or advertising agency.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the applicant's ability to plan and implement new and unique programs without benefit of established criteria; compose written material and conduct verbal/oral presentations; solicit and negotiate sponsorship agreements; develop advertising copy.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position is not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
