About the Position: This position is located with Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, California. Incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Equipment Specialist within the Directorate of Clinical Support Equipment. r
Duties
Serve as the command’s appointed Personal Property (Accountability Property) Manager.
Responsible for the comprehensive management of medical/dental equipment and automated data processing assets at NHCP and outlying Branch Health/Dental Clinics.
Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and implementing the acquisition strategy and sustainment requirements for biomedical devices managed within Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (NHCP).
Responsible for delivering a totally sustainable product to the customers from cradle to grave.
Collaborate with consultants, vendors, program managers, and command key staffs to clarify regulatory requirements, develop or modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) conduct inquiries and investigations.
Prepare SOPs pertinent to Equipment Management Division (EMB), policies and procedures governing supply regulations.
Coordinate and monitor the organization and performance of Property Disposal, Reutilization, and Redistribution Programs for all equipment property and the Property Inventory Control Program.
Review BIOMED’s Monthly Maintenance Management Executive Summary for successes/failures and where improvements can be made.
Supervise four civilian personnel in Property Management.
Perform personnel management functions for personnel assigned.
Support and advance patient care by applying state of the art engineering and management techniques to healthcare technology to promote safe, efficient, and cost-effective acquisition and application of technology from cradle to grave.
Evaluate the merits of contracting maintenance services versus in-house performance of requirements.
Responsible for granting access to LogiCole, approving and disapproving users, reactivating inactive users, and resetting certificates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which include managing one or more personal property programs such as Life Cycle Management (LCM), Capital Expense Equipment Program (CEEP), Equipment Program Review Committee (EPRC) and/or Medical Care Support Equipment (MEDCASE) and using automated supply systems that include the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System (DMLSS) in support of medical and dental equipment.
