You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT for the DEPT OF NAVY at the NET SEC ASTFLD ACT.

Duties

You will schedule appointments and maintain calendars for executive level personnel. You will use an electronic travel system, such as Defense Travel System (DTS), to create travel documents. You will answer and direct calls to appropriate personnel for customer assistance You will resolve office support issues such as procurement of supplies, office equipment maintenance, timekeeping. You will research rules, regulations, and procedures to resolve questions or issues. You will prepare business correspondence in final form (e.g., publications, forms, memoranda and other documents) for distribution.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.Utilizing the various functions of multiple office automation software, personnel systems, and programs to enter data and produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.; 2. Maintaining and reviewing world-wide travel and transportation reservations for the command using the Defense Travel System (DTS) and/or MyTravel; 3. Applying knowledge of Military terminology, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to administrative and clerical assignments, such as preparing various correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing official mail; 4. Ensuring all documents and information required to provide command Pay/Personnel and Transportation support are relayed to the appropriate supporting organization via the current authorized electronic transaction system and in accordance with applicable policies governing accuracy and timeliness standards. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: 4 years above a High School Diploma.
