About the Position: The Alaska District is seeking to fill an Administrative Support Assistant position. An ideal candidate will have experience in and possess an in-depth knowledge of timekeeping, government purchase card and property accountability. Experience using Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint, as well as exceptional interpersonal, written and communication skills, be detail-orientated, have a passion for helping others and multitasking ability are desirable.

Duties

Keeps Supervisors calendar and schedules appointments and meetings on own initiative. Supports Division automation requirements. Takes lead in developing new methods of automating office records and renders advice and recommendations for purchase of computer resources. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Responsible for property accountability of expendable and non-expendable property. Property includes office equipment, furniture, automated office equipment and software.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resources Management. OR Combination: of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComputer SkillsEquipment ApplicationManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
