Duties

The incumbent works with the customer to diagnose a business problem and recommends an appropriate set of tools and applications as a solution without bias to any particular type of technology. The customer may be a single clinic within a hospital; several disciplines within a hospital, medical treatment facilities or the Regional Medical Command (RMC). Incumbent coordinates multiple projects associated with health care programs and systems to include information systems. Analyzes programs to determine where there are parallel or duplicate programs or processes Facilitates the integration or consolidation of the programs or processes by negotiating and/or mediating agreement between the various organizations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to work outside normal duty hours to meet the needs of the customer.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes any two or more of the following; analyzing health care service performance within a medical facility; assisting in the development of facility procedures to improve performance; and managing healthcare data systems to support data retrieval and analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
