Duties
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from January - December, and you will be in a non-pay status for two weeks in December.

Some of the duties you will perform include, but are not limited to:
Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical and electronic components of water systems including inline turbidity meters, pumps, electrode relay systems, flow/level controls, programmable logic controllers, and static mixers.
Maintains Wastewater sewer systems, collection systems, and lift stations. Checks and monitors wastewater vault levels and arranges for pumping of septic tank vaults when needed.
Makes operational decisions in the absence of foreman. May be assigned to act as a work leader on special projects. Shares knowledge and provide on-the-job training to co-workers.
May operate a front-end loader with a push plow attachment (33,000GVW) while performing snow removal. Incumbent will drive pickups up to 1 ton often pulling trailers, equipment and materials.
Performs a variety of skilled work in the construction, installation, and repair of water distribution lines, appurtenances, and sewer lines. Knows procedures for removing obstructions in sewer lines.
Repairs and troubleshoots common electrical problems. Will perform electrical repairs to chemical pumps, electric motors, circuit breaks, water pumps, lighting systems, chart recorders, transfer switches, backup generators, chlorine analyzers, and programmable logic controllers.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor, you must possess and maintain a current California T-2, or higher, Water Treatment Operator License OR possess a similar license from another state for which California allows licensing by reciprocity within 6 months. DWOCP (ca.gov). You MUST provide a copy of license you possess at the time of application.
