The Program Support Assistant (OA) is located within the Primary Care Service, Telehealth Program. The VHA expands the provision of patient care to various institutional and non-institutional settings by utilizing innovative telecommunication technologies to enhance care, coordination, access to care and to routinely and proactively manage diseases to prevent healthcare crises.Programs may include, Clinical Video Telehealth, Store and Forward Telehealth, My HealtheVet and Home Telehealth.
Duties
Provide administrative and technical support for the Telehealth program by maintaining electronic communication, scheduling and maintain Telehealth data.
Provide clerical services as well as being well versed with the Telehealth Program in effort to aid Veterans, caregivers, families, and employees who contact the Telehealth office.
Assist with submitting travel requests, scheduling conferences, coordinate meetings and record minutes pertaining to the Telehealth program
Consistently communications and treats customers (Veterans, their representatives, visitors, VA staff, and all others) in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner).
Knowledge of and skills in automated data processing applications
Knowledge of electronic communications and scheduling application

Qualifications
To qualify for this position
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of the broad range of patient care and administrative services at a Medical Center in order to plan implement, carry out, and advise on various activities relative to quality management/improvement. Knowledge of VISTA, CPRS and a wide variety of other software programs to input and retrieve data as required. Ability to design, write, review policies and data collection forms/techniques to assure compliance with reporting requirements and validity of the end product. TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
