About the Position: These positions are located at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.

Duties

Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence. Administers programs and serves as the primary source of information. Acts as the point of contact for all newly assigned personnel. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Attends required training, meetings, and functions as related to the prescribed unit programs. Serves as a unit liaison to the military and civilian personnel offices.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The position may require the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • May have to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

Specialized Experience: Must demonstrate experience in auditing forms to ensure that forms are current and valid; maintaining and managing an executive staff calendar; interacting with civilian and military staff; utilizing a variety of automation systems to conduct tasks such as travel or time and attendance; and using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to create and develop reports and correspondences. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyInterpersonal SkillsSelf-ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
