THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, Position Description Number T5867000 and is part of the CO 140 Wing, National Guard.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the focal point for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy and wing-level long-range strategic plans.
Duties
Plans, organizes, resources, and directs the execution of a wide range of complex inspection activities for the wing Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP). Applies an extensive knowledge of installation operations and DoD, DAF, and G-MAJCOM guidance to direct complex strategic planning and exercise efforts. Responsible for organizing and analyzing data from inspections and exercises across the DoD with the goal of identifying and communicating trends. Oversees and manages the WIT conducting inspection and exercise activities. Serves as a qualified complaint resolution representative providing advisory services to individuals, other staff offices, managers, supervisors, and employees concerning the IG program and processes.

- This position requires a secret security clearance; the incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a secret Clearance.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Relocation Incentive is available for only current federal employees. Will need a current appraisal in good standing.
- Eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that’s a 3 or higher.
- Recruitment Incentive is for employees newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
- Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
- IAW AF guidance, incumbent must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) within 180 days of appointment.

Must have experience or knowledge in each of the following:
1. In conducting inspections, exercises and investigations where significant difficulties are encountered.
2. In selecting, adapting, and applying investigation and negotiation techniques; interpret complex laws and regulations.
3. In selecting, adapting, and applying inspection techniques; interpret complex laws and regulations.
4. In developing different exercise scenarios based on Wing mission sets.
5. In developing new approaches, methods, or procedures in data gathering and analysis techniques, recognizing and resolving discrepancies and/or inconsistencies among findings.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
