This position is supervised by the Deputy Clinical Director of the facility. The incumbent will serve as the Chief of the Podiatry department. Will provide podiatric surgical care services to patients and provide supervisory and administrative responsibilities to maintain an efficient podiatry clinic. Recruitment incentive authorized up to 25% of base with service agreement. New Appointees to Federal Service Relocating Federal Employees Recruit is Open Until Filled: Subject to on-call.

Duties

Serve as Chief of Podiatry responsible for the supervisory, managerial, administrative output for the service unit podiatry division. Perform diagnostic test and interpret results, conduce examinations, make diagnosis, provide podiatric medical and surgical procedures. Prescribe medication, adjust dosage or frequency. Develop standard operating procedures for podiatry, maintain Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) access, monitor division for compliance, implement improvement plans, review and audit staff for quality performance. Provide technical training, instructions, job techniques to subordinate staff, plan and assign work assignments, work schedules, improve workflow, and increase productivity. *This position is being announced concurrently under the Excepted Service/Merit Promotion procedures. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR): Education: In order to qualify for this position, you must have a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree. Licensure: In order to qualify for this position, you must have passed the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME) or the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examining (APMLE). Full Unrestricted License: In order to qualify for this position, you must have a full unrestricted license to practice medical/podiatry medicine in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-15: One (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: Perform diagnostic test, examinations, interpret test results and make podiatric diagnosis, perform outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures under general anesthesia, perform very difficult medical procedures with little or no technical guidance; prescribe or adjust medication; provide supervisory and managerial responsibilities to staff through orientation, training, performance evaluation; evaluate podiatry operations to implement improvement plans, compliance, identify cost effective resources for effective podiatry program through multiple clinics and medical facilities. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
